Spoke Word Open Mic Night - Third Sunday of every month
This September Holy Moly welcomes Jemma Burgess, who's about to bring the sunshine to Greenhithe with new festival Where The Light Begins. In addition to telling us all about the event and the mission behind it, Jemma will be rounding out the evening with her own work. Here's some more about Jemma:
Jemma Burgess is the Founder and Creative Director of Hope On Prescription CIC. A Drama and Theatre graduate, Poet, and Mental Health First Aider, she is passionate about merging the arts with wellbeing. Jemma has directed and performed in immersive productions, and is Poet-in-Residence at Darent Valley Hospital, and Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support Services. She leads Creative Wellbeing projects in schools and communities championing creativity as a pathway to healing and connection.
Before then, we'll have at least one open mic section, where you can warm up for the festival with all your new (or not so new) material - poetry, spoken work, short stories or beyond.
Entry is free but you can support us by purchasing an optional ticket on Eventbrite.
