Spoke Word Open Mic Night - Third Sunday of every month
October's Holy Moly features the pleasingly offbeat Donald Chegwin, who will delight us with skew-whif tales involving unusual nouns and a general sense of macabre unease. Often very funny though! In the man's own words:
Donald Chegwin is a poet from Maidstone. He writes about animals, eggs, monsters and meals. His work has been published in Verve Press’s Why Poetry? anthology, along with various poetry zines and horror movie mags. He joined forces with a nanoscientist to write about miniature swans for the annual Pint of Science festival.
Before Donald, we have our regular open mic. You are welcome provide your own macabre unease (or not) with your spoken word, poetry, short stories, jumping out and saying "Boo" because it's almost Halloween etc. No need to book a slot, just sign up on the night! Entry is free but you can support us with an optional ticket.
