Caspian’s Storm by LAS Theatre

Caspian is a small but incredibly curious crab. He spends his days quietly watching the humans from his rockpool home in the little town of Crabbiton. But one stormy night, a magical tide changes everything. Transformed into a giant, talking crustation, Caspian finds himself elected as the town's mayor. But danger lurks when a group of bad apples plot to cook Caspian for their dinner.

Packed with puppetry, music, and plenty of laughs, Caspian's Storm is a fast-paced, interactive show for the young and young at heart. With LAStheatre’s trademark quirky humour, toe-tapping music, and an important message about protecting our environment, it’s the perfect show for all the family. Everyone laughs at the Dragon Whisperer. “Imagine spending your life caring for something that simply doesn’t exist!” Can the Dragon Whisperer defeat the evil queen and save these magical creatures? A tale of friendship, food and dragons told by three brilliant actor/musicians set on a brightly coloured rotating caravan. Packed with puppetry, laughter and live, original music.

We're pleased to welcome Merryman the Jester to the Pier!

Performing as Merryman the Jester, Mickey will be entertaining visitors with his close hand magic, silly jokes and excellent balloon modelling skills around the Pier. Mickey will be performing from 11am.

No seaside themed event would be complete without the traditional Punch and Judy Show!

We are very excited to welcome Prof David Wilde to the Pier with his traditional show loved by children of all ages.

Previous performances have included The V&A Museum, Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood, Sotheby’s and on BBC Television.

As part of our ‘Great British Summer Holiday’ themed pop-up on the Pier event, we have some wonderful seaside themed entertainment.

Keep an eye out for the hilarious and cheeky ‘Partners in Mime’ who will be popping up on the Pier from 1pm on Saturday 16th August. If you visited the family fun zone in the Fort Gardens at the Riverside Festival this year, you may have caught some of their hilarious antics! Well now they’re back again!

Splat! is a physical comedy about Art and Creativity.

Set in an artists studio, the show follows two aspiring artists- one dedicated and serious the other erratic and messy. The two characters attempt to complete their masterpieces whilst antagonising each other in the process. They take a journey through the history of visual art; experiencing the techniques of the great masters and movements before eventually realising that to achieve anything they must embrace their opposites and work together.

The show explores themes of collaboration, play, dedication, spontaneity and letting go. The show features no language and is accessible for deaf audiences.

Everything is in disguise and the story goes into the skies with this comical retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. This comical story is retold through a massive 6ft tall book complete with pop ups and props coming out of the book!

Big Goldilocks wanders off from her parents into the forest but soon gets lost, getting hungry, grumpy and tired. The forest animals decide to escape before she gets even more grumpy on an Animal Rescue Centre which flies high throughout the skies! Goldilocks arrives at the Three Bears house for a big bowl of cereal but soon it’s up to the audience to help scare her away…
